Who Made This?
Plot Drop was created by Sam Jeet, a developer with more curiosity than free time.
There are thousands of movies and shows out there, and Sam wanted to know what happens in all of them even if she'd never actually watch them. Not vague summaries, but the actual plot, the ending, everything. Sometimes it's about deciding if something's worth watching. Sometimes it's satisfying curiosity. Sometimes it's remembering what happened in a show she binged years ago.
Sam built Plot Drop for herself after struggling to find decent and comprehensive spoilers. She wanted honest, comprehensive spoilers without digging through forums or skimming Wikipedia. Turns out, she's not the only one.
How We Use AI
Transparency is important to us. Here's how AI is currently being used in Plot Drop:
- AI-Generated Spoilers: We currently use AI as a starting point to generate plot summaries and spoilers for movies and TV shows. This allows us to provide comprehensive coverage quickly, but we're always working to improve accuracy and quality.
- Future Evolution: While AI serves as our foundation today, we're actively developing a crowd-sourcing model. Soon, users will be able to contribute, edit, and verify spoilers, creating a community-driven knowledge base that combines the best of AI efficiency with human expertise and accuracy.
- Development Tools: This website itself was developed with the help of AI coding assistants, including Cursor, which helped accelerate development and bring this project to life faster.
We believe in being open about our use of AI while also recognizing its limitations. That's why we're building toward a hybrid model that leverages both AI and human contributions for the best possible experience.
